Soundtrap and Listenwise Partner for Podcast Professional Development

Soundtrap and Listenwise are combining their efforts to provide teachers with more resources to develop podcasts. Soundtrap’s audio and podcast creation platform will utilize Listenwise’s audio news resources and step-by-step teaching pedagogy to give teachers professional development tools.

Their Professional Development module gives teachers 1-to-1 coaching, project templates, instructional materials and assessment rubrics to help them through the entire process of creating podcasts. The module provides teachers with three months of free access to Soundtrap and Listenwise.

“Joining forces brings a holistic approach to finding out about the world around us. Together, we provide simple tools that support STEAM education initiatives while amplifying student voices and developing essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration,” said Per Emanuelsson, managing director of Soundtrap at Spotify. “We hear from teachers that they sometimes feel daunted by new technology. Now, with Professional Development it’s as if there was someone there in the classroom to guide them through the whole process.”

The Professional Development module will cost $3,500 for a cohort of six participants, and it is available to additional participants for $575 each.
