NCTM Seeks Math Teachers for Classroom Research Grants Application Deadline is Nov. 1

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is seeking PreK–12 math educators and classroom teachers who teach math for its Classroom Research Grant program, open to applicants through November 1, 2022.

The Classroom Research Grant program will award up to $6,000 per teacher to "support and encourage classroom-based research in precollege mathematics education in collaboration with college or university mathematics educators."

Eligible to apply are mathematics educators or PreK-6 teachers currently teaching math in their classrooms. Applicants are required to be an essential or premium member of NCTM.

An applicant's proposed research project must involve a "college or university mathematics educator (a mathematics education researcher or a teacher of mathematics learning, teaching, or curriculum)" and one or more classroom teachers, defined as "individuals who spend half or more of their work time teaching in the classroom."

Winning grantees' research projects should be completed between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.

The program has separate instructions for applications teaching grades PreK–6 and grades 7–12.
