Digital education company Pearson has announced two new and one expanded online, full-time, accredited, public school programs in Pennsylvania, California, and Missouri as part of its Connections Academy.

Stanford University is launching a new advanced program within its Stanford Online High School, called Stanford Pre-Collegiate University-Level Online Immersive. Its first "Immersive" online course for high school students will be a course based on a curriculum for first-year Stanford students, Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra.
Hybrid learning platform ClassIn has launched its courseware management platform TeacherIn, which promises to bring curriculum and instructional content discovery, editing, and distribution into one platform that integrates with its namesake LMS and allows teachers and content creators to “monetize their work,” the company said in a news release.

Setbacks in student achievement resulting from school shutdowns between 2020 and 2022 promise to be a pressing issue for some time to come. The good news: Research shows some effective ways to accelerate academic recovery for those students. The bad news: Not all schools are implementing these approaches, and some are implementing programs that have no positive impact — as well as programs that can lead to even greater setbacks.
A survey of nearly 1,000 parents revealed that only a small minority oppose the use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT for academic help in schools.

When we started using a new literacy program 10 years ago, our reading scores were mediocre. Within a few years we had moved up to being a Level 1+ school, which is one of the highest rankings for Chicago Public Schools’ rating system (which is currently being replaced with a new system). We’re using the literacy program as a main component for grades K–5 and then another program for fifth graders.

The new Digital Equity module, an extension to Lightspeed's Digital Insight network and ed tech analytics platform, provides real-time connectivity and device health data on students’ school-issued devices, enabling school leaders to know when students experience connectivity outages at home — allowing for interventions or assistance before learning outcomes are impacted, the company said.
