Compaq introduces its new value-priced Pentium-based desktops -- the ProLinea "E" series. The new series is Windows 95-ready and comes standard with PCI/ISA expansion bus architecture, large hard drives (630MB or 1GB), 8MB of RAM and a three-year limited warranty. Choose from 75, 100 or 120MHZ Pentium processors; 256K cache is optional. According to Compaq, all three models cost less than similar offerings from IBM and HP, based on known SRPs of September 95. Education pricing starts about $1,320.
