Digital Color Printer Does 20 ppm & More

The CYMax 3240 is a new digital color printer that boasts a throughput of 20 pages per minute &emdash; a full color page in under three seconds. Applications for the unit include bar codes, presentations, overhead transparencies, signage, banners and brochures, labels and more.

CYMax utilizes proprietary technology that applies four individual process colors in a single pass. Its ¼gment–;marking process, vs. dyes, supplies fade–;resistant and consistently rich hues.

Also featured are an on board Adobe PostScript interpreter, a RISC processor and an internal disk–;based subsystem with a storage capacity of 500MB to 1GB. Using an internal drive to hold pre–;rasterized images provides automatic electronic collation.

The device is roll fed and the output is cut on demand, allowing for the mixing of 8.5 x 11", 1 x 17" and banners of virtually any length in the same print job.

The simplicity of the hardware design gives an estimated 200,000 pages between service calls, resulting in extremely low maintenance costs. Datametrics Corp., Woodland Hills, CA, (800) 4R CYMAX.
