Project Offers Kids Free Music Education

Project Rythm offers members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida free weekly music education.

The project,sponsored by Rogerick Green (cornerback for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars), the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida and several music industry organizations, is a pilot program slated to be rolled out nationwide.

Targeted at six- to 18-year-olds, with special concern for the disadvantaged, Project Rythm teaches music education with an initial focus on the drums. "When I was growing up, drums helped me channel any negative influences from my environment into positive results," says Rogerick. Classes will be offered in phases, starting with the "History of the Instrument."
