Program Lets Teachers Control Student Computers

Lancaster gives teachers an easy and comprehensive tool for teaching and communicating with students over their classroom computer network.

The program allows teachers to teach with and control student workstations from the teacher's computer. Instructors can send and retrieve student files, such as tests and daily work, over the network. They can also view student screens to monitor their work, even send notes to students who request assistance by raising their "electronic hand."

Lab management features allow teachers to shutdown and restart student workstations from the teacher's station, saving valuable time. They can also lock student computers, freezing the screen when the teacher wants the students' attention. COMPanion Corp., Salt Lake City, UT, (800) 347-6439. M
