Portable CD-i Boasts Data Storage

Weighing in at just under 4 pounds, the CDi370DV portable CD-i player is lighter and less expensive than most multimedia-capable notebook computers.

In addition to a built-in 5.6-inch active-matrix color screen, the player connects to just about any television or A/V monitor, eliminating the need to transport bulky projection or display devices. To further enhance presentations, an infrared pointer is included; a CD-i mouse or other similar device can also be used.

The disc player suits a variety of training and presentation environments as it supports an array of formats including CD-i, audio CD, Photo or Video CD, and MPEG-1. Data can be entered, stored and transferred between the player and PCs or Macs, allowing quick information updates. Philips Consumer Electronics Company, Knoxville, TN, (800) 223-4432.
