Share One Net Account With Multiple Users

The VICOM Internet Gateway for Macintosh has a new version featuring better performance and support for cable modems in addition to regular and ISDN modems.

Improvements include Power PC native code, Open Transport native drivers for PCI and PCMCIA Ethernet cards, and support of 1024 DHCP clients. And it supports all Internet clients like Fetch, Eudora and Netscape.

With VICOM Internet Gateway, all users on a network simultaneously share access to the Internet using just one modem and a phone or ISDN line and a single PPP or SLIP user account.

Whenever a user launches a browser, either directly or through a link in an application, the software automatically dials up and logs on. It can also be set to log off after a period of inactivity.

Other features include an auto-configuration tool, and a DHCP tool to automatically set all usersí IP address information.

Prices start at $249 for three users. A demo version is available on the firmís Web site. Vicom Technology, Mountain View, CA, (800) 818-4266, www.vicomtech.com. M
