Ace the SAT and ACT With New Prep SW

The Princeton Review and Mindscape have updated Inside the SAT & ACT, adding and enhancing features designed to help students increase their standardized test scores.

For around $40, students and career counselors get a two-CD program boasting practice tests, study planners and inside information on more than 1,400 colleges and universities, reported by students across the country. Extensive video clips of Princeton Review instructors explain key problem-solving techniques and test-taking strategies, with the intent of calming students' qualms and provoking them to concentrate on their studies.

New features for the '98 Deluxe Edition include a "Flash Report" delivered via the Internet with news on the latest SAT and ACT tests; an expanded Study Plan tracker; the ability to download college applications, fill them out and print them for mailing; a "Hit Parade" offering definitions and pronunciations of the 300 most commonly tested vocabulary words, along with hints for remembering them; a bookmark feature for easy program re-entry; and an easy-to-use GUI. Naturally, detailed lessons on every section and subject of the SAT and ACT provide students plenty of study opportunities. Mindscape, Inc., Novato, CA, (800) 234-3088, www.mindscape.com.
