Fiber Optic Cable for Dynamic Use and Easy Installation

Sumitomo Electric Lightwave's FutureFLEX Air-Blown Fiber Optic (ABF) Cabling Systems offer an innovative and cost-effective choice for dynamic LAN networks that require frequent reconfiguration. The ABF system allows for growth and change of high-speed data LANs without risking the fiber optic investment.

Fully compliant with all applicable industry standards for structured cabling systems, these fiber optic networks can be designed to meet the specific needs of various user topologies (ring, bus, star or hierarchical star). Each ABF system includes an infrastructure of easy-to-install tube cable used in place of traditional innerduct to form the LAN topology. The tube cables contain up to 19 small, individual tubes within a tough outer jacket. Compact fiber optic bundles are blown through the tubes on a stream of air or nitrogen gas, using a patented cable-blowing head. Once the tube cable is in place, installation moves swiftly as the fiber optic cabling is being blown at speeds of up to 150 feet per minute to anywhere in the LAN it is needed.

The system includes outdoor and indoor multi-tube cables, in burial, riser and plenum versions, for constructing the LAN network infrastructure. Fiber bundles are available in both singlemode and multimode types.
