Fiber Optic for Indoor or Outdoor Use
Adventum, from Berk-Tek, is a loose-tube, plenum-rated fiber optic cable that can be run from the outdoors directly into a plenum environment. The cable has been engineered without any gel-type filling compounds in the cable core or buffer tube. However, Adventum cable is fully water-blocked because it features a dry compound water-blocking scheme inside and outside of the buffer tube. This compound, along with state-of-the-art jacketing material, allows the cable to be plenum-rated. System designers and installers can place Adventum cable anywhere in a network, foregoing the building entry points required with traditional non-rated, loose tube fiber optic cable. Also, without bulky tight buffered fiber coatings, these fiber cables are up to 35% smaller and yield tighter bend radii.
