Motorola Spirit GT Two-Way Radios

Motorola’s new Spirit GT Professional Two-Way Radio is an advanced unit, designed specifically for education users. It lets a group of people talk to each other simultaneously at the push of a button. The radios are very easy to program; it took us about 5 minutes to program, set up and use the radios.

The Spirit GT measures 4" x 2.5" x 1.2" and weighs less than 7 ounces. It has a talk range of up to 200,000 square feet or 15 floors indoors and up to 4 miles outdoors. The signal quality is excellent — very crisp and clear, even near the unit’s maximum range. A rechargeable NiMH battery gives up to 9 hours of use, and each radio comes with a belt clip and recharger.

Educators will find these units useful in a myriad of ways: playground, maintenance, athletics, rallies, bus coordination, security and more. You can also take advantage of their voice activation features when used with an optional headset. We were extremely impressed with these radios. They are very user-friendly and the quality of workmanship and signal is impressive.

Additionally, unlike cell phones, there are no monthly service charges, airtime fees or connection costs. Simply ante up the suggested retail price of $189 apiece, check with the FCC on licensing requirements (888-CALL-FCC) and get to work!
