Users can look up words by their part of speech, date of first use, language of origin, or a number of other simple and advanced search options. More than 215,000 definitions and 340,000 synonyms, antonyms, and related words are included on the CD-ROM. Spelling help enables users to spell words phonetically, while audio pronunciations improve verbal communications and 1,000 color illustrations expand understanding. A special online menu can link users to a variety of Web-based resources. The program easily downloads onto a hard drive, so users need not have the CD-ROM when they must find a word.
