Epson's new Stylus Color 777i is an affordable color ink jet printer designed for the Macintosh, but also compatible with Windows platforms. Costing only $99, it provides high image quality and performance, with 2,880 dpi resolution and four-picoliter droplets. The printer delivers eight pages per minute in black text printing, and up to six ppm for color text and graphics. Epson has engineered the printer software for greater saturation and better shadow and highlight detail, so the unit delivers photo-quality images with no need to purchase separate ink cartridges. Both USB port and parallel connectivity are provided, as is a software bundle that features EPSON Film Factory, Trellix Web, and Corel Printhouse for photo editing and publishing. The printer comes in colors to match the iMac or PowerMac G4.
