GoPrint/Turbo

GoPrint/Turbo is a wireless printer sharing system that connects computers to printers via high-frequency radio waves. The product allows PC users to print over distances of up to 500 feet indoors – around corners and through walls – so printers can be positioned anywhere without the hassles of wiring. Because it operates in the 2.4 GHz range, GoPrint/Turbo is resistant to interference from equipment such as computers, machinery, cellular phones and other radio devices. PCs and printers operate as if connected by a cable, with superior error detection and correction methods. Secure printing data is sent at rates equal to hundreds of text pages per minute, which is two to five times faster than data sent with wired systems.

The system is compatible with all types of laser, dot matrix and hard-to-share color inkjet printers. Users simply attach the GoPrints directly to the parallel ports of each printer and PC. Optional software enables unique printer identification so individual users can send jobs to more than one printer. The system is expandable, linking one to eight printers with any number of IBM-compatible desktop and laptop computers. As a result of this flexibility, workgroups can share printers without a network, network users can offload printer traffic from busy networks, temporary setups can instantly share printers, network printers can quickly be relocated anywhere, and portable computer users can connect effortlessly.
