Educational Sites Feature Geography, Government

From ABC-CLIO Schools come several Web sites containing resources, reference, and learning tools for students. Each site is aligned with national curriculum standards, and contains thousands of encyclopedic entries, a number of visual resources, interactive topic explorations, and test banks to assist educators. Each Web site links to current news, features, and commentary pertinent to the curriculum, while easy-access content correlations link to national history and geography standards and popular textbooks. A special section for educators offers plentiful resources, while the student section delivers project resources, advanced searches, and a section in which to publish essays. Among the comprehensive sites offered are World Geography, American Government and State Geography.

World Geography contains a wealth of information about each country’s history, government, politics, law, economy, environment and cultural landscape. In-depth statistical data covers population, climate and economics, and contains tools to analyze and compare data. Interactive maps help students analyze and interpret geographic information.

American Government includes political commentary and cartoons, daily updated news features, and a complete set of presidential and vice presidential biographies and inaugural addresses. State Geography encompasses state history, political data, and cultural and environmental information. It includes several archival state documents, and biographies of all current governors and senators. Other sites include World History, American History, and more.
