NASA Site Offers Science Lesson Plan Assistance
Teachers looking for a primary source of lesson plan material in science can find it at NASAexplores.com, a new teacher resource on the Web. Each week, the site features two articles based on NASA research, developments and events, along with corresponding lessons for grades K-12. The articles and lesson plans are written by a team of certified and experienced teachers, and meet national education standards. NASA's Aerospace Technology Enterprise and Human Exploration and Development of Space Enterprise support the project.
The plans include estimated preparation times for lessons and lists of required materials. Lessons are adapted for three levels of learning - grades K-4, 5-8 and 9-12. The content incorporates and supports national educational standards in mathematics, science, geography and technology; and covers an array of subjects, such as measurement, chemistry, biology, language arts, study skills and algebra.
Subscribers can access the free content at the site, or sign up to receive weekly e-mail notices linking them directly to the site.
