Xerox's Phaser 860

The Phaser 860, one of Xerox's latest network color printers, breaks new ground in speed, performance and price, printing at 16 ppm in color and boasting a powerful 250 MHz processor. Xerox drives its solid-ink technology forward with the introduction of ColorStix II Solid Ink to provide brilliant color on any type of paper, with smooth transitions and fills, as well as sharper images. In addition, Xerox offers free black ink for the 860, making color printing even more affordable.

The 860 also transfers a full-color image to paper in a single pass, allowing for higher print speeds. It provides users with true-color confidence by offering industry-leading color technologies such as TekColor Dynamic Color Correction, ColorSync, ICC color press profiles, Pantone certification and sRGB color matching. The 860 also includes CentreWare IS, an embedded Web server for remote printer management via any Web browser. The 860 is also equipped with Phaser Printing Scout, a software feature that instantly pops up a help window on the user's computer with visual instructions when the printer needs attention, such as additional paper or solid ink. And Intelligent Ready enables the printer to automatically adapt to the institution's workflow, virtually eliminating warm-up time.

The 860 comprehensive features include: 64 MB of RAM, expandable up to 256 MB; expanded media flexibility, including legal-size paper and support of up to 110 lb. index stock; automatic two-sided printing; fast 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and Auto Install for easy networkability; 1,200 dpi print resolution.
