SeaWorld Offers Online Environmental Teacher Guides, Activities

SeaWorld and its parent company Busch Gardens offer a growing number of online teacher's guides for all grade levels. The guides have been developed to help teachers inform their students in an interactive, hands-on manner about the environment and Earth's resources. Each teacher's guide includes goals and objectives, information, vocabulary, a bibliography and classroom activities that strive to integrate science, math, geography, art and language.

Age-appropriate units for grades K-8 include introductions to arctic animals and "Animal Behavior and Training." For students in grades 7-12, the site offers guides covering topics such as "Diversity of Life," which explores the ecology of the ocean, and "Marine Animal Husbandry and Training." There's even a Spanish teacher's guide that discusses killer whales. All teacher guides are available online at www.buschgardens.org/teacherguides.
