Corel Ships Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Corel has released Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, an update to the company's image editing suite that's positioned as a low-cost alternative to other professional image editors and targeted in large part toward students. The new version adds new photo enhancement capabilities and layer effects.

The major focus of the X2 release is enhanced image editing and effects capabilities. These include:

  • Layer styles for adding drop shadows, reflections, glows, and other non-destructive effects;
  • A new Express Lab, which offers a streamlined method for enhancing images;
  • Support for high-dynamic range image merging, allowing bracketed photos to be blended together with automatic dodging and burning; and
  • Enhanced black and white, which provides a channel mixer via a single control interface.

The new version also adds a new "graphite" workspace and watermarking capabilities.

Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is available now for Windows-based systems with an education license price of $59.99.
