Blue Lane Ships VirtualShield 4 for VMware


Blue Lane Technologies has released VirtualShield4.0, a security solution for VMwareInfrastructure 3 and designed to integrate with VMware VirtualCenter.

VirtualShield is designed to protect virtualized servers regardlessof patch level or location; configuration-free protection updates; theability to block remote threats without blocking legitimate applicationrequests; and protection for specific applications without any "manualtuning." And it provides real-time network flow visibility and security"by protocol, operating system, application, and VM cluster," accordingto the company.

New features in version 4.0 include:

  • VirtualFlow Center, which provides console management;
  • Integration with the VMware VirtualCenter; and
  • Deployment of VM shields based on templates.
