Blogging Tool for Mac OS X Updated

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Red Sweater Software has released an update to MarsEdit, a blog editing tool for Mac OS X. The new 2.1.2 release, posted Feb. 13, includes several enhancements to tagging posts, previewing content, and managing blog entry drafts.

MarsEdit is a desktop tool for blogging, designed for far greater performance than Web-based interfaces. It integrates with other editors, such as BBEdit and TextWrangler, and includes compatibility for WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, Movable Type, LiveJournal, Drupal, and others. It also integrates with Flickr.

The new 2.1.2 release, which followed closely on the heels of the 2.1 release in late January and 2.1.1 release earlier this month, incorporates several improvements over the previous version. These include:

  • Capsule-style tagging for posts in supported systems;
  • The ability to post drafts to the server;
  • Improved performance for Web previews; and
  • The ability to filter and sort drafts based on keywords.

MarsEdit 2.1.2 is available now as shareware for $29.95. Upgrades from version 1.0 run $9.95. MarsEdit is a Universal Binary application, supporting Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 on PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. A 30-day free trial is available.
