Califone Promotes Class Participation with New Student Response System
Califone International unveiled its Got It! student response system last week. Designed for the K-12 market, the new platform provides a way for students to participate in classroom discussions anonymously, using infrared technology.
According to the announcement, Got It! is intended to enhance learning through interactivity and class participation and is designed to fit with a variety of instructional styles. It includes reporting capabilities, such as quarterly, summary, and comparison reports; eight interactive modes, including quizzes, Q&A, and games; integration with a variety of instructional technologies, such as whiteboards, presentation screens, and document cameras; and integration with a variety of commonly used software programs.
"The Got It! system does the work of collecting, processing and displaying student responses, providing the teacher more time to concentrate on the lesson at hand," said Tim Ridgway, vice president of marketing for Califone, in a prepared statement. "And through formative assessment, the student response system allows the educator to evaluate student learning quickly, indicating where remedial instruction is required even before the lesson is completed. This helps students learn and retain more content, and also helps to facilitate classroom interaction."
Got It! will be available this fall in both 24- and 40-user packs. The infrared-based system is capable of receiving up to 255 responses and carries the company's one-year warranty.
