Stephen S. Wise Temple and Schools Ramps Up Video Surveillance

Stephen S. Wise Temple will be implementing Proximex Surveillint video surveillance equipment to protect its campuses, students, faculty, and congregants. The project includes integrating about 100 cameras located in four schools on three campuses and using Proximex Surveillint to manage multiple video, access control, video analytics, and intrusion detection systems. The temple, located in Los Angeles, supports 1,700 preK-12 students and 650 faculty and staff.
"The safety of our children is always a top priority and we needed the strongest solution we could find to help us protect them," said David Lam, CIO and CISO. "Proximex Surveillint is exactly the type of solution we need. It allows us to incorporate our multiple video systems and security systems into one easy-to-use security platform so we can centrally view and quickly respond to incidents based on our security policies. In addition, as we expand with more security technologies, Surveillint lets us choose the best systems available to meet the needs of our environment without worrying about interoperability."
The temple already has analog cameras in place being managed with software from Vicon. Now it's expanding coverage with IP cameras that are being managed with software from OnSSI. Surveillint is installed on a server at the temple, and it interfaces with other security systems already in place.
