Adobe Releases Digital School Collection for K-12

Adobe recently announced the availability of the Adobe Digital School Collection for K-12 teachers and students. The latest version bundles several new Adobe products, including Photoshop Elements 7, Premiere Elements 7, Acrobat 9 Pro, Contribute CS4, and Soundbooth CS4, as well as a teacher resource DVD.

New integration features between Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere Elements 7 give students the opportunity to create photo and video projects and presentations that can be burned, streamed, or uploaded and shared via the Web. The inclusion of Acrobat Pro 9 gives educators the ability to share content, assignments, and lesson plans via digital, rich-media documents.

The new Soundbooth application is intended to simplify podcast creation and includes a new Speech Search function, allowing users to search video clips by targeting individual, spoken words.

Finally, Contribute CS4 provides a Web content authoring solution that can be deployed for users of any skill level, helping to improve the efficiency and speed of site content updates.

According to Adobe, the teacher resource DVD included with the new version contains a variety of tools, such as lesson plans, tutorials, and sample images, as well as suggested activities that make use of the full suite of applications. The collection is available now and can be purchased in both single- and volume-license options.
