Spam Attacks on the Rise in Q3
Identity thieves and hackers appear to be coming at Windows users from
all fronts, most commonly with spam. They were particularly active
during the third quarter of 2008, when they did it eight times more
frequently than in the previous quarter, according to a report
released Monday by Sophos.

Santa Clara USD Launches Multi-year 802.11n Deployment
Santa Clara Unified School District in Northern California is
launching a multi-year project to deploy high-speed 802.11n WiFi
across 25 locations. The district will be using ZoneFlex Smart
Wireless LAN systems from Ruckus Wireless for the deployment,
according to information released recently by the district.

Allegany County Public Schools in Maryland recently announced the

designed to support more than 10,000 students, faculty, and staff.

Punahou School in Hawaii Turns to Virtualization for Data Center Energy Reduction
Punahou School, a private K-12 school in Hawaii, is launching a new
effort to reduce its overall campus energy consumption by half within
the next eight years. As part of the effort, the school is partnering
with IBM to overhaul its data center with new servers and
virtualization software from VMware.
