Tripp Lite Extenders Allow for Long Distance Monitor Placement

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Tripp Lite has introduced two new extenders that provide video and audio distribution over long distances using ordinary Cat5 cabling without, the company said, affecting picture or sound quality.

Model B130-101 extends a VGA video signal up to 500 feet from the source and retails for between $105 and $140. Model B130-101A extends both video and audio and retails for between $120 and $155. Maximum range is extendible to 1,000 feet using Tripp Lite's low-skew Cat5 patch cable. These new extenders are useful in situations such as classrooms or campuses with digital signage.

"Our VGA-over-Cat5 extenders are perfect for video distribution applications, including high-quality digital signage," said product manager David Posner. "They make it easy to provide high-resolution content over long distances while keeping the source completely secure and hidden from view. By taking advantage of existing infrastructure, equipment, and expertise, these extenders offer significant savings compared with the expense and inconvenience of implementing a proprietary video distribution or kiosk solution."
