Boarding School Chooses ImageNow To Digitize Documents

Phillips Academy in Massachusetts has chosen Perceptive Software's ImageNow enterprise document management and imaging application to bring its extensive filing archive into the 21st century.

In an effort to overcome a number of obstacles to administrative efficiency, and at the same time have the filing systems in its various offices conform to the school's green initiative, Phillips Academy has decided to convert all of its paper files to digital format for increased security and easy storage, access, search, and query.

"ImageNow will eliminate the time-intensive tasks involved with manual retrieval and storage of paper documents," said Valerie Roman, Phillips Academy director of technology. "With instant document access, our staff members can collaborate more effectively and be more productive," added Roman.

Perceptive is the document management partner to Datatel, whose administrative management suite Phillips Academy currently uses. This will allow for easy integration of the ImageNow software, said a spokesperson for Perceptive.

Phillips plans to begin its deployment of the document conversion project using ImageNow in its Office of Academy Resources, which includes fundraising, and eventually follow up in its registrar, admissions, human resources, and comptroller's offices.
