IBM Lotus Quickr 8.2 Gets Performance Boost

IBM has released Lotus Quickr 8.2, an update to the company's collaborative learning tool. The new version is focus mainly on feature improvements for Lotus Quickr services for Domino but also includes improvements to connectors for Quickr services for WebSphere Portal.

Lotus Quickr is both a Web- and a desktop-based rich collaboration and file sharing environment. It provides a media repository/store, a set of Web services for content management and collaboration, and plugins for accessing Quickr through desktop apps.

The new release includes several improvements for Lotus Quickr services for Domino, including overall performance improvements, simplifications to editing, integration with Lotus Connections Activities, support for Lotus Domino 8.5 DAOS, improved integration with Lotus Sametime, security fixes, and support for Firefox 3, among other enhancements.

It also adds improvements to connectors for Lotus Quickr services for Domino and Quickr services for WebSphere Portal. These include the addition of the Domino Web Access connector, e-mail drag and drop from Lotus Notes, new single sign-on capabilities, and support for local groups, among others.

Lotus Quickr 8.2 is available now for electronic delivery. Media and documentation will be available June 19. Further information can be found here.
