Hall Research Ships Multi-Format Digital Video Scaler

Hall Research has started shipping the SC-1080H, a new multi-input, multi-format audio/video scaler. The SC-1080H provides five inputs: HDMI/DVI; PC/VGA; YPbPr; S-video; and composite video.

The device provides a scaled digital video output that can be selected to display any of the inputs. The SC-1080H inputs can accept various video formats and resolutions, and its output can be scaled to any resolution for display on an HDMI- or DVI-compliant display. Audio inputs include both analog and digital types, while the audio output is digital (S/PDIF) on a separate connector, as well as embedded in the HDMI video stream.

The product is designed with front panel controls, IR remote, and professional RS-232 control interface. It provides advanced video scaling designed for smooth and jitter-free output and can produce any PC resolution up to 1,920 x 1,280 or HDTV resolution up to 1080p. The SC-1080H provides extensive on-screen display capabilities and supports EDID on all applicable ports. Analog video inputs support both NTSC and PAL video and feature an adaptive 3D comb filter. The unit is 1U in height and a half rack wide.

The SC-1080H is available from Hall Research for $799.
