MvixUSA Debuts HD Digital Signage Players

MvixUSA has announced two new high-definition digital signage players, the Mvix DS HDPro and Mvix DS Elite. The two new players support full 1080p high definition video and are networkable. The Mvix DS HDPro and Mvix DS Elite are for use with the company's Mvix Digital Signage System, billed as a turnkey display solution.

The Mvix DS HDPro supports more than a dozen different video formats with 1080p resolution, and uses an HDMI interface to connect to a display. A variety of source inputs are possible, and Mvix provides split/grid screen functionality. The DS HDpro allows users to display, alone or in split-screen combination, live TV streaming (via an external TV tuner), RSS feeds, ticker, weather, and PowerPoint presentations.

The Mvix DS HDPro is networkable and small (9" x 7" x 3"), so it can be placed behind a display. The player also comes with an embedded touchscreen module, so it can be used with interactive kiosks and other touchscreen applications.

The Mvix DS Elite is network-ready and the same size as the Mvix DS HDPro. The company said the Elite model is designed for low operational cost, consuming 40 watts to 70 watts. It also comes with the embedded touchscreen module.

Both of the new Mvix players have wireless networking capabilities.

The Mvix DS HDPro is listed at $449 at the company's Web site store. Pricing for the Mvix DS Elite was not listed as of press time.
