NEC's $399 NP115 3D-ready DLP projector.

NEC has launched a new portable, 3D-ready DLP projector, the latest in its NP Value Series.

The new model, the NP115, offers a brightness of 2,500 lumens, a native resolution of 800 x 600 (SVGA), and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The projector supports input video formats up to 1080i and computer input resolutions up to 1,360 x 1,024.

The NP115 offers built-in wall color correction, an option that adjusts tone to display projected content on non-white surfaces, and autosense, which automatically syncs the projector with computer input signals and allows for one-touch image optimization.

Other features include:

  • ±40 degree vertical keystone correction;
  • 7 watt mono speaker;
  • No cooling off period after shutdown;
  • Power off timer; and
  • RS-232 control.

The projector weighs 5.5 pounds, measures of 12.2" x 3.7" x 9.7"--with the lens and legs off--and comes equipped with a Kensington lock port for security.

Inputs include RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), S-video, and composite video; audio inputs include a one-eighth inch (3.5 mm) stereo minijack.

The NP115 is currently available for $399. Further information is available here.
