Knovation Unveils Know New Ideas Community

Knovation has developed a free online social networking community dubbed Know New Ideas for educators to network with peers to improve personalized and digital learning.

Know New Ideas includes both original and aggregated material for educators. Members have access to blogs provided by a regular lineup of expert contributors, but members  can also add their own postings and status updates. Experts posting on Know New Ideas include Director of Professional Learning Lynn Ochs, Chief Academic Officer Steve Nordmark, Manager of Social and Education Based Marketing Dawn Crawford, Curriculum Content Manager Duane Crowe, Curriculum Content Manager Kathy Frye, and Marketing Coordinator Melissa Knollman

Members of the Know New Ideas community can also:

  • Create a profile page, which allows them to include photos of themselves and their interests, create blogs, questions, and discussions, as well as monitor responses. Members will also soon be able to choose apps available from partners;
  • Post status updates on the Know New Ideas platform, which can also be delivered to Facebook and Twitter with one click;
  • Attend webinars and events focusing on education and technology; and
  • Read about products and best practices written by Knovation customers.

In addition, Know New Ideas includes a personal learning network, which allows members to "like" other educators in the United States.

"Giving educators opportunities to connect in online communities like Know New Ideas is a concept that has been promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and has been touted as a key driver for digital transformations at the classroom, school, and district levels," said Joe Grieshop, president of Knovation. "With Know New Ideas, we are fostering this trend and creating new opportunities for educators to participate in this community-based, social experience as a direct extension of the professional learning and education transformation tools that we currently deliver through our netTrekker and icurio solutions."
