Odysseyware Enhances Online Courseware With Common Core-Aligned Remediation Tool

Online curriculum publisher Odysseyware has introduced the Common Core Assessment and Remediation Tool, a set of supplemental assessments and instructional materials designed to help K-8 students master the goals of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
Fully integrated into Odysseyware's current online courseware, the learning tool approaches content differently than the basic curriculum via mini-lessons that concentrate on one skill per lesson. The new supplemental material can also be used to build student skill sets.
Additionally, with a primary focus on skills and assessment, the Common Core Assessment and Remediation Tool lessons include a vocabulary intensive approach designed to increase student understanding and help them prepare for state achievement tests.
Odysseyware's Web-based curriculum includes courses in core subjects such as history, geography, math, language arts, science, and a variety of electives to choose from. Instructors can also customize their lessons, assignments, tests, and quizzes to accommodate individual class requirements.
Key curriculum features include:
- Audio and video files;
- 3D animation to illustrate complex concepts;
- Slide show presentations;
- Relevant Internet links for self-directed learning;
- Learning games;
- Tiny Tutors to link key ideas;
- Links to primary sources; and
- Text-to-speech capability that allow students to hear selected passages or entire lessons.
