Desire2Learn Integrates Wiggio To Streamline Collaboration

Desire2Learn has integrated its newest acquisition, Wiggio, into Learning Suite, to enable students to more easily manage file sharing, group messaging, scheduling, and task management.

Features streamlined with the integration include:

  • The ability to send group messages through text, email, voice or video note;
  • Event scheduling via group calendars;
  • The ability to upload and edit files;
  • Group chatrooms;
  • Virtual meetings via conference call;
  • Video chatting;
  • Screen sharing;
  • The ability to create polls; and
  • To-do lists for group project management.

"Wiggio was initially created to address my own collaboration needs as a student and the technology is now used by more than a million students, validating the need for this type of solution," said Dana Lampert, former Wiggio CEO and current director of engineering. "I'm delighted that we're helping the learning community work more efficiently and excited to have an even bigger impact now that we're a part of the Desire2Learn family, which is expanding its global footprint at such a rapid rate."

Wiggio will be available to current Learning Suite customers at no charge beginning in the fall. It will also be available as a standalone product, and Desire2Learn will continue to support its at more than 2,000 colleges and universities worldwide.
