Pearson Launches Free Math Tutorial App

Pearson has launched a free iOS math app offering more than 1,500 tutorials aligned to the Common Core and other standards.

Dubbed Virtual Nerd Mobile Math and designed for students in grades 6-12, the app features tutorials organized by topic and standard, on-screen instructors and the ability to "favorite" videos. Students using Pearson High School Mathematics Common Core 2015, Pearson Integrated High School Mathematics Common Core 2014, and digits 2015 can also search the app by those programs' table of contents.

"Personalized learning is essential to ensuring that all students are on the path to meeting and exceeding today's more rigorous learning goals," said Pearson's sSenior Vice President Mike Evans, in a prepared statement. "Providing free, mobile access to Virtual Nerd's outstanding math tutorials provides students, teachers and parents with a powerful tool for refreshing critical math concepts, on-demand and anytime, anywhere."

An Android version of the app will be available by fall, according to information released by Pearson.
