Amazon Adds Print Functionality from JumpStart to Alexa

Amazon's voice-controlled assistant, Alexa, now allows for the printing of educational materials from JumpStart Games. Students, teachers and parents can say, "Alexa, print a coloring page" or "Alexa, print a multiplication worksheet for third grade," and the Echo device will follow the command.

The new feature works with second-generation or newer Echo devices on myriad printers from HP, Brother, Canon and Epson. Amazon said it would expand the functionality to other printers over time. To find out if a specific printer will work, say, "Alexa, discover my printer."

According to JumpStart, thousands of pre-K to grade 6 worksheets and coloring pages in JumpStart Academy are available for printing on demand, including freebies.

"We are thrilled to provide Echo users fast and convenient access to our award-winning educational content to enhance their home learning," said JumpStart Brand Manager Shannon Gale in a press release. "Our worksheets are an excellent resource for all parents, as well as teachers, to gauge how well children know a subject, and to practice creativity and critical thinking."
