The Playbook Challenge Offers Multiple $5,000 Grants
The Association for Middle Level Education has partnered with American Student Assistance to launch a grant program aimed at enhancing student career exploration in middle school.
The Playbook Challenge, which opened today, will award three $5,000 grants to educators with the best proposals for developing a career exploration program using principles and best practices outlined in AMLE's book Career Exploration in the Middle Grades: A Playbook for Educators. (The book is available as a free digital download from the grant website.)
"From STEM initiatives to community and family partnerships, educators are encouraged to bring creativity to their proposals," according to the organizers.
"We know that career exploration may — and should — look different in each school community, but it is possible in every school," said Stephanie Simpson, CEO of AMLE, in a prepared statement. "We want to empower students to discover their strengths and passions, and we know one of the most effective places to do this is at the middle school. That's why the Playbook Challenge is more than just a funding opportunity. It also comes with a roadmap to help educators design evidence-based, effective career exploration programs."
