Digital Imaging Camcorders: Panasonic

The PV-VM202 from Panasonic is a Digital Palmcorder MultiCam that acts as a digital camcorder, digital still camera and teleconferencing Web camera. The three-in-one camcorder can record in virtually any lighting condition, even in total darkness, with remarkable detail using the camcorder's MagicVu IR Filter. It comes with a high-quality Leica lens for crisp detail and true-to-life images. The Progressive PhotoShot Mode helps eliminate fuzziness by digitally capturing the image data of a singular moment and temporarily storing it in two field memories. The images are then combined to produce a higher quality picture. It also comes with an SD memory card for smooth networking with PCs, TVs and PDAs. The PV-VM202 offers three ways to transfer images to a computer. i.LINK connects the camcorder to a PC through an IEEE 1394 interface or another camcorder. Card Link lets users use an SD memory card to save and transfer motion and still images to a PC. And PhotoVu Link uses a serial connection to transfer still images to a computer. The camcorder also features a dual digital electronic image stabilization system in record mode. Panasonic, Secaucus, NJ, (800) 211-7262, www.panasonic.com.
