Barco Rolls Out Massive Range of High-Light-Output Projectors, Free-Standing Video Wall
Barco has drastically expanded its lineup of high-light-output, high-resolution projectors. The company launched nine new high-brightness projectors in its Present line, including the brightest single-chip DLP projector on the market, as well as a high-light-output three-chip projector, three collaborative projectors, and a free-standing 2 x 2 video wall.

Single-Chip DLP
In the new Present range, Barco introduced nine single-chip DLP projectors offering brightness ratings of 4,750 lumens to 10,000 lumens.
On the high end, the PJWU-101B offers 10,000 lumens coupled with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 (WUXGA) and a contrast ratio of 1,250:1. It uses a single 0.96-inch DMD and two 465W Ushio lamps and can be oriented for ceiling or tabletop mounting. Other features include:
- Integrated Web server;
- Wired networking capabilities;
- ±100 percent vertical lens shift, ±75 percent horizontal lens shift;
- Four lens options;
- Integrated color correction;
- 2,000-hour lamp life in eco mode.
Video inputs include dual HDMI, 5BNC, and RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin). Networking and control ports include LAN (RJ-45 10/100 Mbps); RS-232; and IR.

Also on the high end, Barco introduced the PHXG-91B, an 8,500-lumen single-chip DLP projector offering XGA resolution (1,024 x 768); the PHWX-81B, a 7,300-lumen model with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 (WXGA) and the PHWU-81B, a 7,500-lumen model with WUXGA resolution. All three offer a contrast ratio of 2,800:1 and include an RJ-45 port for networking and control (along with RS-232 and IR). AV ports include HDMI, DVI, 5BNC, RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), and S-video. The PHWU-81B also includes SDI support.
At the mid-range of the Present line, Barco introduced three models with brightness ratings of 5,900 to 6,750 lumens. These include the PGXG-61B, with a 6,750-lumen brightness and an XGA resolution; the PGWX-61B, with a 6,200-lumen brightness and WXGA resolution; and the PGWU-61B, with 5,900 lumens and a WUXGA resolution. All of the PG models offer a contrast ratio of 1,100:1 and support wired networking and control via an RJ-45 port (10/100 Base-T). AV ports include HDMI, DVI, 5BNC, RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), and composite video.
Also in the Present line, Barco debuted the 4,750-lumen PFWX-51B (with WXGA resolution) and the 4,650-lumen PFWU-51B (with WUXGA resolution). Both offer network connectivity (RJ-45, 10/100 Base-T).
AV inputs for the two PF models include HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, 5BNC, component, dual RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), composite, RCA audio, and stereo minijack. Outputs include monitor out and audio out. Networking and control ports include LAN (RJ-45), RS-232, and IR.

Three-Chip DLP
Barco also revealed a new high-end three-chip (0.67-inch DMD) DLP projector. The Impress MSWU-81E sports a WUXGA resolution and offers a brightness of 8,300 lumens at full power and a contrast ratio of 1,800:1. The new model offers seven lens options for a range of throw ratios (from 0.77:1 to 4.34–6.76:1) and includes:
- Wired (10/100 Base-T) networking;
- Optical lens shift of ±100 percent vertical, ±30 percent horizontal;
- Picture in picture; and
- Up to 2,500 hours of lamp life in eco mode.
AV inputs include dual HDMI, 5BNC, and RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin). Networking and control ports include RJ-45, RS-232, and IR.
Collaborate Projectors
On the collaboration front, Barco launched three models in its Collaborate line that are designed to let multiple users display their desktops simultaneously. The new models include the CNWU-61B, which offers WUXGA resolution, a brightness of 6,000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1; the CRWQ-62B, which offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 (WQXGA), a brightness of 5,500 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1; and the CRPN-52B, which offers a panoramic resolution of 2,560 x 1,080, a brightness of 5,000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1.
The CRWQ-62B and CRPN-52B include dual HDMI, dual DVI, and dual RGB inputs, along with single S-video and composite inputs, along with dual USB ports. The CNWU-61B includes single HDMI, DVI, 5BNC, RGB, component, S-video, and composite video inputs.
All three also include wired networking support (RJ-45, 10/100 Base-T), along with other standard control ports.
In concert with Barco's ClickShare software, the projectors display individual users' desktops side by side on the panoramic CRPN-52B projector, supporting up to four simultaneous inputs. The software automatically adjusts composition and resolution.
Free-Standing Video Wall

The OBLX series of freestanding video walls

Finally Barco has also added a new model to its OBLX series of freestanding video walls. The
OBLX-55 supports up to four 55-inch LCD panels in a 2 x 2 landscape orientation or three displays in a 3 x 1 vertical portrait orientation. Using
extension kits, multiple units can be strung together for horizontal expansion.
The unit is freestanding and does not need wall supports. The leg is hollow, allowing users to attach 1U (19-inch) rackmount equipment in the mount itself, such as a controller or ClickShare base unit, along with a LAN switch and other gear. The foot of the unit is designed to withstand up to 4.8 tons of pressure, according to Barco.
