Five Organizations Receive This Year's EdNET Awards

At EdNET 95 in San Diego, Calif., winners were selected for the EdNET HERO, Pioneer and Rookie of the Year Awards, sponsored by IBM K-12, Market Data Retrieval, T.H.E. Journal and the Peter Li Education Group. The EdNET HERO Award recognizes an organization's positive impact on education through technology and telecommunications. The winners were Davidson & Associates (For-Profit Category) and Global SchoolNet Foundation (Not-For-Profit Category). The EdNET Pioneer Award recognizes an organization's significant contribution to expanding the educational technology and telecommunications markets. The winners were Apple Computer (For-Profit) and the California Department of Education, Educational Technology Office (Not-For-Profit). Finally, Ingenius received the EdNET Rookie of the Year Award, which recognizes the industry's most promising innovation by a small new company or free-standing development group in a larger organization.
