Sanyo Debuts 12,000-Lumen Projector

Sanyo released a new two-lamp 3LCD projector specified at a bright 12,000 lumens, 4,000:1 contrast ratio, 1,024 x 768 (WUXGA) resolution, and 4:3 aspect ratio.

The company said the PLC-XF1000 also uses Sanyo's QuaDrive optical engine to enhance color reproduction for this level of brightness. The QuaDrive includes an additional color control device beyond red/green/blue that allows the PLC-XF1000 to automatically control the amount of yellow light in the image, with the goal of achieving higher luminosity with improved color accuracy and clarity.

This new projector is designed especially for large venues with high levels of ambient light, and is also suited for the high resolution and vibrant color demands of digital signage.

Installation features include power vertical/horizontal lens shifting, and power zoom and focus controllable using the included remote. Positioning is simplified with vertical 360-degree tilt angle and a center lens design. In addition, there are 10 optional lenses available for use with the PLC-XF1000, ranging from short- to long-focus choices. The projector can provide a 40-inch to 600-inch screen size, depending on the lens type.
