Belkin Debuts Charging Stand for Classroom Use

Belkin is debuting a new charging stand for tablets and e-readers designed for the classroom. The station, and a number of other new products, will be on display at this week's CUE 2014 conference taking place in Palm Springs, CA.

Belkin's Secure and Charge solution can store and charge up to 10 devices at the same time. The stand is designed to fit tablets, e-readers and USB-charging Chromebooks up to 13 inches. Devices with cases up to 1.18-inches thick can be stored in the system. Additional features of the charging station include lockable security enclosure, built-in cable management and space for labeling.

The station can be securely mounted to tables and carts. It is compatible with all standard AV carts. Up to three stands can be stacked and mounted together.

The Secure and Charge system is available in AC and DC versions. The AC version includes 10 surge-protected AC outlets, designed to fit most adapters. The DC version comes with 10 full-rate USB outlets.

In related news, Belkin is also introducing a few other new products at CUE:

The Secure Wired Keyboard (6 2/5 x 12 1/5 x 9/10 inches, just over 14 ounces) features full size keys -- spaced for comfortable typing -- and can be connected directly to an iPad or Samsung tablet. The plug-and-play, Mfi Apple-certified device requires no batteries or recharging. A "correct connect" diagnostic indicator enables users to confirm proper connection with the host device.

The Air Protect Case for Chromebooks features ballistic nylon exterior, protective cushioning and reinforced endoskeleton. It also comes with micro-gel tabs and screen attachments to keep the device secure and in place during use. An anti-slip base keeps the notebook elevated to ensure proper ventilation. The case provides access to charging and connection ports when open.

The Air Protect Sleeve for Chromebooks, designed for 11-inch Chromebooks, also comes with ballistic nylon exterior, protective padding and reinforced endoskeleton. The sleeve includes features a bottom pocket for chargers and accessory storage.

The Secure and Charge station will be available this May. The Belkin Secure Wired Keyboard for the Samsung devices is available now. The keyboard will be available in April for iPads. The Air Protect Case and Air Protect Sleeve will be available in April. All products will be sold through Belkin's reseller network.
