STEAM Grant Program Awarding $500 per Classroom This Month

The AIAA Foundation is awarding grants of up to $500 per teacher for science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) education programs. The deadline for applications is at the end of the month.

The AIAA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Its Classroom Grant Program awards multiple grants of up to $500 to schools for use in STEAM programs (or any individual subject area within STEAM), with a maximum of two grants per school per year.

In order to be accepted, projects must aim to "significantly influence student learning," must have a clear connection to STEAM and must emphasize aeronautics. Applicants must be K–12 classroom teachers and must be AIAA educator associate members to apply. (That level of membership is free.)

The number of awards will vary with the funding available each year. AIAA has not announced how much funding is available in this round.

The deadline for applications is Aug. 31. Results will be announced in September. Complete details can be found at aiaa.org. A grantwriting webinar from AIAA is also available to help with the application process.
