Dictionary Includes 1,000 Illustrations & Tables Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Deluxe Electronic Edition, contains the full text of the print editions of the publisher's Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, and Collegiate Thesaurus. The CD-ROM includes more than 160,000 dictionary entries and 130,000 synonyms, antonyms, related and contrasted words, and idioms, plus 1,000 illustrations and tables. For easier viewing, words, presentations, etymologies, part-of-speech labels, dates of first recorded use, and definitions are presented in distinct data fields. Fields may be searched individually or in combinations. Word game enthusiasts, meanwhile, will appreciate the program's four puzzle-solving options. Included as a bonus are Crosswire I and a demo version of Word Crazy. Merriam-Webster has also launched a reference area on America Online, through which subscribers can search for definitions, post messages and participate in real-time "chats" about language.
