DEC Announces Internet Services

Digital Equipment Corp. announced its Internet Services Roadmap, a complete set of services and support for operating effectively and securely on the Internet. Included is a portfolio of 18 consulting, security, training and support services, from systems integration to outsourcing. Among the offerings:

  • Internet Executive Workshops, one-day seminars providing an overview of the Internet's opportunities for a customer, function or industry.
  • Internet Security & Firewall Services, consulting on security threats and solutions; includes software and training for setting up a programmable firewall.
  • Internet Server Start-Up, in which DEC will install and configure Web server software on the customer's existing platform, install and configure Web client software, provide basic home page development, set up anonymous FTP service, and more.
  • Internet Healthcheck, a detailed assessment of the customer's Internet connection, including security checks, network traffic analysis and server performance.
