IBM Recommends UPS for AS/400 Server

IBM now recommends Best Power's Fortress 675VA/400W uninterruptible power system (UPS) as power protection for its AS/400 Advanced Entry Server (9401 Model 150). The low-cost server targets small organizations that operate applications from a local database.

The Fortress UPS notifies the AS/400 to start a controlled shutdown in the event of a prolonged power failure, helping to save critical data. Optional modular external battery packs extend runtime capacity with a relatively small investment.

Supplied in a black finish to match the AS/400, the UPS includes a standard interface for direct communication with the server. Plus, its user interface can be custom-programmed to individual applications. Best Power, Necedah, WI, (800) 356-5794.
