10BASE-T Switch Suits Smaller Workgroups

A new 8-port 10BASE-T switch, the DaynaSTAR MiniSwitch-8 requires no hardware or software configuration, providing a non-intimidating solution for users of smaller networks.

Priced at $100 per port, the unmanaged switch suits desktop publishing, CAD/CAM and multimedia applications. It automatically learns the addresses of connected devices, configuring itself upon startup. 

The MiniSwitch-8 is compatible with Category 3, 4, or 5 UTP cable for 10 Mbps connections and includes a BNC port for connection to a Thin Ethernet backbone. Also included are one crossover port, a front-mounted reset switch and LEDs that indicate link, activity and power.
