The PointCast Network delivers up-to-the-minute news and information free to anyone with Internet access. A final beta version of the Macintosh client software can be downloaded at www.pointcast.com.

Thanks to the firmís SmartScreen technology, news briefs, stock quotes, weather reports and more scroll across usersí computer screens during idle time. A simple click on any headline brings forth the full story. Viewers also can activate the PointCast Network at their convenience.

The beta version includes features such as drop-down menus and drag-and-drop text and graphics. It currently supports six ìchannelsî ó News, Companies, Industries, Weather, Sports and Lifestyle ó offering information from AccuWeather, Business Wire, EDGAR Online, PR Newswire, Reuters, SportsTicker, Standard & Poorís Comstock and other sources.
